The Chalkers
It has been a while since either Claire or I have posted to here. Sorry about that. It has been a busy period.
Without further ado, allow me to present, THE CHALKERS.
You can see the larger version here.
Are any of you blogging? Please send a link if you are.
I'll post again for Christmas over the weekend.

Some recent photos
Here Connor explains his Spiderman picture to Eoin.
I will be making a short film on the lads chalk drawing up on the hill in Crystal Palace Park. It'll be video and stop motion and they will each speak a little about what they are doing. The raw material is terrific and I hope it'll come together nicely as a film. I'm just waiting for a new piece of software which should arrive in a couple of days.
Next we have the two balubas tearing around in the newly refurbished maze in Crystal Palace Park.
Here are two shots from our recent visit to the wonderful Downe House, home to Charles Darwin. These two shots were made along the path that the great man walked while doing much of his crucial thinking.
And finally for this post, two shots from the Heritage Motor Centre in Warwickshire while visiting Claire's parents in Warwick.

FIREWORKS by Eoin
Yesterday there were FIREWORKS in the sky
flying way up high flying like hawks
to remember Guy-Fawkes
who made this rule that was extremely cruel
to BLOW-UP the KING and QUEEN
and from then he was not often seen.

Connor makes it to the front page
Connor, in his yellow raincoat, standing on a broken jetty, looking out over the Menai Strait from the Isle of Anglesey in Wales, makes it to the front page of my agency's website.
I look forward to the rest of my last submission being processed.

quotes of the days
Eoin, waiting for a bus impatiently: The next bus that comes will be a night bus!
Connor's favourite word is hedgehog, used frequently but strategically: When I want to say 'stupid' I say 'hedgehog' instead

Midsummer quotes
The light evenings are having quite an effect on Connor. A few nights ago he observed: I'm full of silliness tonight.
Today he lamented: Going to bed is the worst thing in my life.
Also today, I told Eoin about a 10-year old girl featured in the Indie's Green Edition who has written to Gordon Brown to voice her concerns about McDonald's. He took the paper and kissed her picture, later stating his newly made 'rule' that 'Anyone I marry has to hate McDonald's.'

The May 2009 Gathering in New Ross
None of this would have been possible without Mum and Dad, Kevin and Angela.
You'll need fast broadband to view this video and decent speakers or headphones. Also, please turn up the volume.
Here then is another gathering of the young cousins in South Knock. Life can be so sweet sometimes.
The original, slightly larger version can be seen HERE
Comments welcome. For posterity.

Ireland Visit (part 1)
I'm now beginning to sort out the pictures and films from our recent trip. Lots to come.
Here's Eoin in an alcove looking out over Wicklow Head;
Here's Connor being a bit strange in my parents' house in New Ross;
More lighthouse photos to come. Then a film from South Knock.
See you next time.
Paul.

SQUIRTING MAN by Eoin
Playing catch up here. Long overdue photos, quotes and films will appear over the coming days and weeks.
Firstly, this delightful image from Eoin. Connor too is experiencing a creative surge and is producing some wonderful art. His is a very different style to Eoin's but it's strong and bold. I'll show some here real soon.

When I get home I'm going to draw the house of junk.
later
When I get home I'm going to draw the spirit of people...the Greek people (we are reading Greek myths)
Connor, after cutting himself: Mummy I have lots of blood attacks

Eoin's Art Competition Entry
Eoin did this for a Daycare Trust art competition. The brief for his age group was "what they want to be when they grow up/are older" and Eoin wants to be an art teacher, as per this image.

SEED DISPERSION
This from my Sydenham blog...
My son, Eoin helping the dandelions disperse their seeds while walking home from school yesterday, May 14th.
I heard on the BBC this morning that these lovely, characterful flowers, or weeds as some regard them, are more abundant than ever this year given our lovely warm, wet spring.
